Letter to City Council for the "Black Legacy District"

Please write to our City Council at correspondence@cityofpasadena.net and let them know that you support naming N. Fair Oaks Avenue "The Black Legacy District" and our recommendations for revitalizing this area. The Council meets to consider this item on Tuesday, September 29, so please send this in as soon as you can.

Here's sample letter for you to cut and paste. Please feel free to personalize it. The more personal, the more likely the Council members will take it seriously.

I am writing to express my support for naming N., Fair Oaks the "Black Legacy District" and for recommendations by the Planning Commission and the community's Vision Plan to revitalize this area by increasing the density to 48 units per acre to allow for mixed income and 100% affordable housing with businesses on the first floor. Additionally, the community has made it clear it wants traffic safety, return of locally owned businesses, and to beautify the corridor with public art that reflects the theme of the "Black Legacy District."

Please make sure that the updated Specific Plan reflects these community requests. Thanks!
